The Conservation Programs Internship position at The Rattlesnake Conservancy is a part time position that will support education and outreach programs, summer camps, event planning, training programs, and general office support. The facility is open Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with events occasionally occurring on weekends and evenings. Schedules for the position are flexible during work hours and occasional opportunities for remote work. Physical aspects of the job include being able to life at least 50 lbs without difficulty, be outside during mid-day activities in hot and humid environments, work in adverse weather conditions, and spend extended periods of time on their feet.
-Be at least 19 years old. -Completion of at least 1 year of college with focus on wildlife, biology, education or other STEM fields is preferred. -Belief in TRC's core mission and be passionate about conservation education. -Previous summer camp experience -Experience working with children from age groups Grade 3-8. -Knowledgeable about Florida native ecosystems, flora, and fauna. -Comfortable with outdoor activities in Florida heat. -Valid drivers license -Comfortable with in-water activities, such as kayaking and seine netting. -CPR/AED Certification (preferred, not required) -Wilderness First Aid Certification (preferred, not required) -Experience with special needs children (preferred, not required).
