- Become a professional scent detection and tracking dog handler in the field of conservation, working on practical conservation projects in South Africa. Students will work on real projects, going into Game Reserves with game rangers to help scientists find species, scat etc. The course covers 8 different aspects of Scent Detection Dog Handling: 1. Single Scent Detection Train a dog on a single species for conservation research. 2. Multiple Scent Detection Train scent discrimination for multi-scent research projects. 3. Tracking Learn how to track in the field with the aid of a canine. 4. Field obedience Learn advanced field obedience for safe handling in Africa. 5,Community Outreach Assist local communities with the care of their dogs. 6. Field Work Make a difference by working on real-life conservation projects. 7. Lead Demonstrations Develop handling skills with the general public. 8. Hydrotherapy for Canines Improve working dog fitness through hydrotherapy sessions.

- Includes accommodation, food and course materials. Students are housed in safari tents overlooking the Olifants River and have unlimited wifi. Course dates for 2023: 26 January 2023 to 23 March 2023 21 April 2023 to 16 June 2023 7 July 2023 to 1 September 2023
