Provide a resource base for conservation education, develop and present environmental education programs (including related handouts, activities and lesson extensions) for all Daviess County schools, grades K-12, 4H clubs, Civic and other community groups. Develop and maintain a working relationship with Daviess County school teachers and administrators. Plan and implement the annual Fourth Grade Farm Fair. Coordinate and plan workshops and other events. Work with other agencies to reach the goals of the Soil & Water Conservation District. Currently this position also provides up to 60 hours of education/assistance to the City of Washington’s Storm Water Department through an annual contract with the City of Washington.
The applicant should have excellent organization and communication skills, basic computer skills in Word, Excel and Publisher, the ability to be self-directed and work independently, knowledge of website and social media management. A high school diploma or higher is required, with knowledge of local agriculture and natural resources a plus.
