- Description
- Deer Steward Level 2 courses involve hands-on and field experience over a few days, with attendees learning techniques on aging deer jawbones; taking soil samples and interpreting soil test results; determining acreage of food plots and calibrating equipment; population surveys; forest and early succession habitat management; analyzing harvest data; making property maps; and much more. At the end of Deer Steward 2 training, attendees can plan and implement advanced deer management strategies where they hunt.
- Qualifications
- Eligible applicants include high school juniors, seniors and college students with an interest in wildlife conservation and management, Quality Deer Management, and the NDA. The scholarship covers the course registration fee ($1,000) but does not include travel or lodging. Please see the National Deer Association website for information on how to apply.
