- This course covers a variety of mechanical and chemical treatment methods in forests, fields, and food plots. This course provides students a foundation of skills involving the management of ground level vegetation to meet wildlife management goals. Led by Dr. Craig Harper, one of the nation's leading experts in habitat management relative to deer and other species. We will discuss and demonstrate forest stand improvement, prescribed fire, food plot management, plant identification, chainsaw safety and much more.
- Qualifications
- Eligible applicants include high school juniors, seniors and college students with an interest in wildlife conservation and management, Quality Deer Management, and the NDA. The scholarship covers the course registration fee ($750) but does not include travel or lodging.
