This position directs and plans the activities of the entire bureau, which is responsible for the management of and direction of wildlife conservation plans, wildlife research, health and propagation programs for all birds and mammals in PA under the Game Commission purview. The selected candidate must have broad knowledge and training inclusive of all PA species, and will work cooperatively with the Special Assistant for CWD Response. Positive contacts with local, state, and national sporting and conservation groups is a plus. The candidate must advise the Game Commission Board of Commissioners on wildlife management, research and service issues, and represent or provide testimony for the Game Commission at various hearings, administrative and legal proceedings. Candidate must have experience managing a bureau-wide budget for all sections under the Director. This position reports to the Deputy Executive Director for Administration & Wildlife Management. Minimum Experience and Training (METs):
Two years of experience as a Wildlife Management Program Chief; OR Four years as a Wildlife Biologist 3; OR Six years of professional wildlife management experience including four years in a supervisory capacity, and a master’s degree in wildlife ecology, wildlife management, wildlife biology, or a closely related natural resource science field.
Must have a valid non-commercial Class C PA Driver’s License to operate a vehicle, or your state equivalency if not a PA resident.
