Kansas State University's Kansas Forest Service is seeking a full time, Term Appointment, District Forester for the South Central District, a 16 county district known as District #6. The District Forester will be under programmatic supervision of the Agency’s Rural Forestry Coordinator.
The incumbent will provide technical forestry assistance to landowners, operators, and federal, state, and local agencies and organizations. This will include the preparation and implementation of forest stewardship and forest management plans (including tree planting, timber stand improvement, timber harvesting, the design of windbreaks and shelterbelts) and conservation tree planting plans.
-Undergraduate or graduate degree in Forestry or a closely related natural resource discipline
-2 years forestry or related natural resources field experience
-Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
-Valid driver’s license upon employment
