The purpose of this position is to provide technical services to the cooperators of the Nobles County Soil and Water Conservation District. The District Technician will plan and implement the district tree program, plan and implement the district drill program, administer the Wetland Conservation Act, help with the survey and design of conservation
practices, manage and maintain district equipment, provide assistance with permitting and public education programs, perform duties for the Farmbill Assistant Grant, and aide the District Manager in areas such as reporting and developing the annual budget and annual plan. The Technician will also be responsible for all other duties as assigned by the District Manager and Board of Supervisors.
Two or Four year Degree in Natural Resources Management, Biology, Environmental Health,
Environmental Science/Studies, or a closely related field; AND
Experience with a variety of conservation programs; AND
Knowledge with interpreting soil data, collecting field surveys, and general hydrology concepts; OR
Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the
A valid Driver’s License
Self-motivated. Able to work with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal skills; capable of working effectively with in the public, private, and government sector.
Physical ability to carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform outdoor work in all seasons of the year.
