The Creature Conservancy is currently accepting applicants for a 9-week long education internship for our summer camp program. As a member of the education team, interns will work with children grades 1st-10th delivering programs promoting the Conservancy’s mission of “Conservation through Education”. Responsibilities will include implementing thematic lessons and presentations for an audience using exhibits, hands-on activities, and games while incorporating effective child management. Interns will also have the opportunity to do some small animal handling which they will receive training for.
Hours are 8:30 am to 4 pm Monday-Friday. There will be three late nights (July 8th, July 29th, and August 19th) where we will go until 10 pm to allow kids to see the Conservancy’s bats fly. There will be a day to shadow during the week of June 21st to the 25th. Priority will be given to applicants with no planned absences and those who are pursuing degrees in an education or animal related field or those who are receiving college credit for their participation.
