The Creature Conservancy is currently accepting applicants for a 6-week long education internship for our summer camp program. As a member of the education team, interns will work with children grades 1st-10th delivering programs promoting the Conservancy’s mission of “Conservation through Education”.
Responsibilities will include implementing thematic lessons and presentations for an audience using exhibits, hands-on activities, and games while incorporating effective child management. Interns will also have the opportunity to do some small animal handling which they will receive training for.
Hours are 8:30 am to 4 pm Monday-Friday. There will be three late nights (August 2nd, August 16th, and August 30th) where we will go until 10 pm to allow kids to see the Conservancy’s bats fly. Priority will be given to applicants with no planned absences and those who are pursuing degrees in an education or animal related field or those who are receiving college credit for their participation but all are encouraged to apply.
Consideration for the summer (6 weeks; July 23rd-August 31st) closes July 20th, 2018. Applicants will be accepted on a rolling basis.
