Temporary Education Specialist position at the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education (Pisgah Forest, NC) 5 months/880 hrs https://agency.governmentjobs.com/northcarolina/job_bulletin.cfm?JobID=3059057 The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (WRC) / Wildlife Education Division is seeking applicants for a Temporary Education Specialist at the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education in Transylvania County. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Education Specialist at the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education (PCWE). To help meet the needs of our citizens, the temporary educator will assist with group education programs. This position will play an integral role in PCWE’s Recruitment, Retention and Reactivation (R3) programming. This position will assist with Fishing Skills programs that teach related techniques. These programs are intended to increase participation and promote sustained activity in fishing-related recreation to achieve retention, recruitment, and reactivation goals that support conservation efforts. Examples include: Fly-fishing, Fly-tying, Casting, Entomology for Anglers, Stream Habitat, Interpreting Hatchery Fish Production The pay rate is $18.50 an hour, depending on the education and experience the individual brings to the job. Work schedule will be based on the needs of the programs. Weekend work will be required. This is a Temporary assignment limited to 880 total hours. Graduation from a four-year college or university with coursework emphasis in education, some aspect of natural resources management, science or a related field is required. Teaching experience is preferred. Fly Fishing experience is preferred.
