The Arthropod-Borne Disease Laboratory (ABDL) in Yaphank, NY conducts countywide surveillance of arthropod-borne pathogens. The ABDL is seeking an entomologist to assist with various lab functions including the expansion of a tick surveillance program. The successful applicant will be required to conduct field work for tick collections and molecular laboratory analysis for tick-borne pathogens. Experience in molecular biology is preferred. a) Graduation from a college with federally authorized accreditation or registration by NY State with a Master’s Degree in Biology, and one (1) year of experience in the field of research on the biology and control of nuisance insects; or,
b) Graduation from a college with federally authorized accreditation or registration by NY State with a Bachelor’s Degree, and three (3) years of experience in the field of research on the biology and control of nuisance insects.
