- Description
- Looking to immediately fill a biological/environmental compliance position for a new solar facility in Imperial County (Holtville area). Work is slated to begin mid-December and is anticipated to last one year. Full-time hours, per diem, reimbursement for lodging, and reimbursement for mileage will be provided. Duties include: environmental training (WEAP), nesting bird surveys, construction monitoring, wildlife relocation, environmental/SWPPP inspections, coordination/scheduling monitors (cultural, paleo, etc.), and daily report-writing. Due to the remote nature of the project location, it is expected that the biologist will be able to reside in/around Imperial County, at least for the initial stages of the project. Potential seasonal/on-call or full-time/permanent positions may be available following conclusion of the project.
- Qualifications
- At least 2 years of construction monitoring, nesting bird survey, AND environmental compliance. Experience working in/around southern California and familiarity with the region's flora and fauna. Preference will be given to individuals that have worked in Imperial County and/or the Colorado Desert, and have experience with burrowing owl and flat-tailed horned lizard. Willingness to work potentially long days in temperatures that can exceed 100F, live in or around Imperial County, and work independently with minimal oversight. Strong report-writing skills and attention to detail.
