Description
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is seeking one college student or recent graduate to work at Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, 5 miles west of Lago Vista, TX, June 5, 2023 – August 4, 2021 (Approximately 30 hours per week, only Monday-Thursday; 4th of July week is a holiday). The Environmental Education Intern prepares for and conducts environmental education (EE) programs for students in grades K -12 using established curriculum and lesson plans. The intern will teach hands-on EE lessons and assist with program evaluation, inventory tracking, and will have the opportunity to assist with curriculum development. Leadership, group management skills, and an interest in working with various age groups and students from varying backgrounds are important skills for this position.
Qualifications
June 5, 2023 – August 4, 2021 (Approximately 30 hours per week, M-Th only; 4th of July week is a holiday) Leadership, group management skills, and an interest in working with various age groups and students from varying backgrounds are important skills for this position. Must be willing to drive a van with 10-12 students between partner locations. Work will be performed outside in warm weather. Training provided. Housing may be available.
