Make the beach and salt marsh your new classroom with the Burton 4-H Center on Tybee Island! As part of the University of Georgia Extension 4-H system, the Burton 4-H Center provides high-quality day and residential environmental educational experiences. Environmental Educators will teach hands-on classes in coastal ecology, including beach and marsh ecology, reptiles, seining in the ocean, sea turtles, squid and shark dissection and more. This position will start Jan 3rd and work through May 25. There is also an option to a little sooner on November 13 or in December and work through May 25. Benefits include compensation of $10/hour (35-42 hours/week), private bedroom in a new and spacious staff house for $20/week, limited health insurance, training in barrier island ecology and environmental education, and the chance to live on an awesome semi-tropical barrier island just a short stroll to the beach. We are also just 20 minutes away from the amazing town of Savannah, GA with endless free time activities.
