Under direction, performs industrial facility identification, inspection, data collection and evaluation for compliance activities; investigates pollution complaints, recommends remedial mitigating actions to minimize environmental impact; inspects waterways to detect and address illegal, non-storm water discharges.
Training and Experience: 60 college credit hours in related subjects and two years of experience in pollution control activities. Desirable Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Considerable knowledge of chemistry, hydraulics and mechanics as related to wastewater collection and treatment, and storm water drainage; considerable skill in giving directions to others; ability to maintain records, write reports, and use computer mapping and database systems; ability to meet and deal effectively with industry officials and the public. Additional Information Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state in which employee resides.
