- Description
- JUNE 26-27, 2023 WENATCHEE, WA Trapping and handling wildlife is a researcher's greatest privilege and responsibility. When the life of an animal is literally in your hands, there is no room for mistakes. Ethical considerations should be made before efforts are made to capture wildlife, and mitigating risk to both researcher and animal should be the top priority. In this course, participants will have the opportunity to discuss with experts the ethics of various trapping styles, whether or not capture is warranted or necessary for certain data collection types, and considerations for beginning or participating in a trapping project. The course will also cover species-specific trapping techniques for mammals in the Pacific Northwest and participants will spend a full day practicing hands-on trap setting. **Pair this course with The Foundations of Wildlife Chemical Capture for a discount!**
