Driftless Area Land Conservancy is looking to hire its new Executive Director to work for a growing, nationally accredited land trust that was recognized as Wisconsin’s Land Trust of the Year in 2017. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic direction of the Conservancy. In addition, the executive director will serve as the Conservancy’s spokesperson, fostering and sustaining relationships with conservation partners, funders, elected officials and the public. The position is located at Driftless Area land Conservancy’s office in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.
The Conservancy is seeking a candidate who …  Is a proven conservation leader for other land trusts, nonprofits, universities, and/or agencies.  Enjoys fundraising and connecting people to causes they love.  Has proven success soliciting gifts.  Is an outstanding communicator with the ability to motivate others to conserve the Driftless Area.  Is scientifically literate and committed to conservation and natural resources.  Is naturally curious and an active learner.  Has a strong working knowledge of developments and trends (e.g., climate resiliency strategies).  Works collaboratively, is a team player and a team building.  Brings a sense of levity to the workplace.  Has experience implementing and leading strategic planning. This position requires …  A minimum of five years of senior level nonprofit leadership experience.  Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent education & related experience.  Successful resource development, fundraising and philanthropy experience.  Effective personnel management.  Extensive experience in public speaking/public relations.  A proven record of accomplishment in a leadership position overseeing operations while maintaining strong and positive relationships with staff, board, donors and the community.  Knowledge of Microsoft office suite, database management and social media platforms.
