Description
The Southern Nevada Conservancy (SNC) is seeking an Executive Director (ED) with high level leadership and managerial skills and experience. This is an exciting time for SNC. We are beginning a strategic planning process with the support of a consultant to shape the future direction of our organization. The position entails managing a complex nonprofit organization with a $3 million annual budget and over fifty staff. Team building, valuing diversity in the workforce, excellent communication skills, developing innovative interpretive and educational programs, strategic thinking, juggling projects, fund raising and development, financial management, and maintaining and forging new partnerships are inherent to this position. The ED works closely with and reports directly to the Board of Directors. Closing date is January 20, 2023 - or until filled. Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • A bachelor’s degree in a related field. • Experience in leading an organization in developing new and innovative programs and services to meet goals and best address evolving needs and a changing environment. • Innovative leadership and management of staff including ensuring ongoing professional development. • Track record of budget management and financial oversight and forecasting. • Outstanding oral and written and communication skills including speaking to diverse audiences and stakeholders and building consensus. • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. • Experience developing, assessing, and delivering interpretive and educational programs to the public, students and especially to diverse audiences. • Understanding of nonprofit governance and the role of public lands. • Possesses a knowledge and application of laws and policies pertaining to nonprofit organizations. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience and success in working with a Board of Directors and public land management partners. • Successful history in fund raising and development such as grant writing and/or grant management. • Knowledge of the importance of public lands and related stewardship issues and application to innovative interpretive and educational programs and projects. • Proven track record to set priorities, delegate, and keep the organization running smoothly. • Understanding and application of social media and current communications technologies. • Oversight of retail operations and use of software to maintain financial systems. • Development/implementation of a strategic plan to meet an organization’s vision and goals.
