Description
The JENE Fellowship (Jewish Experiential Nature Educator) is located at the Brandeis Bardin Campus of the American Jewish University in southern California. The Jene fellowship offers both a 12 week and a 16 week long course program in Fall and Spring, respectfully. The purpose of the JENE Fellowship is to teach essential wilderness survival skills and educational philosophy to aspiring outdoor educators. Jene fellows also learn from industry experts in Ropes/Challenge course facilitation and professional wranglers in Horsemanship 101. Jene fellows spend their morning doing work projects on the Brandeis Bardin property, caring for our animals, and assisting the wranglers in equine care. In the afternoon, fellows spend their time learning from experts in the fields of wilderness skills and agriculture, Horsemanship, and Ropes/ Challenge course. When fellows are not learning new skills, they are practicing these skills with personal or professional projects, or putting these skills to use as outdoor educators serving the guests and clients of the Brandeis Bardin property.
