STATE OF WYOMING invites applications for the position of: ATAW99-09739-Facility Maintenance Specialist-Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp-Dubois SALARY: $16.53 - $16.53 Hourly LOCATION: Dubois OPENING DATE: 01/09/19 CLOSING DATE: Continuous DESCRIPTION AND FUNCTIONS: Open Until Filled GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Position is responsible for maintaining and day-to-day operations of the Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp. Position will be responsible for maintaining buildings and grounds, conducting janitorial services and acting as contact person for weekly camps and meetings. Human Resource Contact: Kate 307-777-4507 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level. •Self directed and self motivating in identifying and solving problems •Maintains facility, including repair and/or oversight of facility's plumbing, heating system and lighting systems •Oversees services provided by independent contractors •Monitors equipment logs and insures proper maintenance schedules are upheld •Monitors and provides maintenance on sophisticated electrical systems which include: fire alarm system and fire alarm control panel, dirty smoke detectors or loss of power trouble; electrical and battery operated lights and doors •Performs lawn and landscape care, including mowing, raking, fertilizing and watering; maintains sprinkler system; trims trees and plants and does other yard work. •Performs custodial and janitorial services during and between camps including, but not limited to, cleaning of cabins, dining hall, restrooms, flooring, and trash receptacles •Performs regular cleaning of windows, carpets, tile, and countertops. •Maintains and does minor repairs on equipment and tools •Purchases supplies •Sets up and takes down meeting room furniture for Game and Fish Commission and other Department meetings •Performs preventive maintenance on facility buildings and grounds •Maintains Material Safety Data Sheets and Hazard Communication Program for facility •Responsible for weed control; maintains record of pesticide applications •Maintenance of water system (including well, filters, chlorination) •Serves as contact person for camps •Works approximately 40 hours per week which includes work on some weekends. QUALIFICATIONS: PREFERENCES: Preference will be given to those applicants who have a minimum of three years of work experience in building and grounds maintenance. Must have a valid driver's license. KNOWLEDGE: •Knowledge of heating and cooling systems. •Knowledge of electrical systems and wiring. •Knowledge of plumbing systems and repair. •Knowledge of refrigeration and freezer system repair and trouble shooting. •Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations. •Knowledge of lawn sprinkler systems; knowledge of lawn and landscape care chemicals. •Knowledge of basic math. •Skill in record keeping of contractor services and performance. •Skill in working on ladders; skill in basic computer use, e-mail and word processing. •Skill in use of hand tools, including carpentry; skill in use of lawn care equipment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: None - See "Preferences" NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: •Must be able to drive vehicles, ATVs/UTVs. •Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. •Must be in good physical condition, with the ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions. •Must be willing to work outside of regular business hours including early mornings and late evenings. •Must be able to climb ladders and stairs on a daily basis.
