Description
Wetland Habitat Restorations (WHR) is an environmental landscape design, planning and installation firm. Our passion is to restore and protect resilient native landscapes, to educate the public about ecological restoration, and to work with existing natural resources and conditions. We are currently looking for experienced Field Managers to manage, train and oversee field staff on a daily basis. Job Responsibilities: • Manage the execution of construction projects and planning labor and equipment requirements to ensure completion of job(s) within project deadlines • Manage safety, quality and productivity of work and crew members • Supervise, coordinate and delegate the day to day work activities of a landscape construction crew of 2-5 employees • Orient and train employees on policies and procedures, tool use, and best management practices • Operate and maintain various tools and equipment, including heavy equipment – tractor, skid loader, excavator and small equipment – chainsaw, applicators/sprayers, laser level • Read and interpret construction plans and specifications to delegate and complete work activities • Work with the Field Operations Manager and Leadership Team to improve and implement policies and procedures that increase work efficiencies • Bid on natural resource projects with minimal oversight • Communicate with clients to manage restoration projects from start to finish
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: • Minimum 5+ years of related landscape construction experience • Invasive weed control and land management experience through mechanical, chemical and biological control methods • Knowledge of invasive and native plant species • NPDES SWPPP training as a certified site manager and/or installer • S/130, S/190 controlled burn training • Commercial Herbicide Applicators License, Categories A, E, and J • Hold or have the ability to obtain a CDL, Class A driver’s license • Supervisor/Management experience General Expectations: • Work weeks will be 40-50 hours on average. The position will be expected to perform physical labor on a daily basis. • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs repeatedly through an entire work shift • Work is conducted outdoors, under various conditions including rain, snow, heat, humidity, cold and noise • Flexible working hours including occasional weekend work • Crew members are expected to present themselves in a professional manner at all times • Occasional overnight requirements are necessary for certain projects • Employees may be eligible for benefits such as holiday pay, vacation time, retirement match and annual education stipend after one year of employment Please email resume, cover letter, and references to Sean Wickhem: sean@whr.mn
