Description
Temporary Full-Time, Resource Technician Duties and Responsibilities: Temporary Hourly Resource Technician (40 hours per week). Anticipated start date of April 16, 2023. The Missouri Outdoor Recreational Access Program (MRAP) is a program in which private landowners make their property available for public recreational use in exchange for incentive payments. Primary responsibilities will include: • Promote MRAP program via social media, newsletters, mailings, presentations, etc. • Develop brochures, fliers, presentations, and other creative displays as needed. • Assist MRAP Crew Leader in completing MRAP applications and other administrative duties as needed. • Answer questions from the public on area regulations and the MRAP program. • Perform other assigned duties associated with MRAP involving area checks and evaluations. • Travel to monitor MRAP properties across the state including overnight travel. Vehicle will be provided. • Install and maintain property boundary signage and bulletin boards and stock MRAP survey card boxes. • Vehicle will be provided. Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Good written/oral communication skills are required. Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and enjoy working outdoors. Will be expected to work some weekends and holidays. Must be capable of outdoor work in a variety of conditions. Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Experience and skills pulling trailers is preferred. Must be capable of operating hand tools such as power drills, post-hole diggers, hammers and saws. Must be capable of operating an All-terrain vehicle (ATV) and/or Utility terrain vehicle (UTV). Must be capable of off-road navigation using aerial imagery maps. Must be capable of accurate data entry. Work Environment: • Frequently travel long distances and perform field work in a variety of outdoor conditions. • Occasionally exposed to loud noises which may require the use of hearing protection. Physical Abilities • Move about MDC properties, both inside and outside of buildings. • Operate on-road and off-road department vehicles for extended periods of time. • Operate a tablet and other office productivity machinery. • Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information. • Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more, and three-dimensional vision. • Regularly lift up to 5 pounds, correctly lift up to 50 pounds. • Concentrated attention is required at all times. • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
