Job Description: Limestone Springs Preserve is one of the largest rainbow trout producers in Pennsylvania. This is a private fish hatchery that supplies 400,000+ lbs of rainbow trout into the fee fishing, stocking and food processing markets annually. We are looking to hire a full time employee to join our team in a year-round, full time core position. Work schedule is typically 5 days a week (with some exceptions), work day is typically 7am to 3:30 pm with a 30 minute lunch. The facility is open 362 days a year regardless of the weather. Duties/Responsibilities: -Work on the farm centers around taking care of rainbow trout. This includes but is not limited to: feeding, cleaning raceways, moving fish, grading and sorting fish for specific sizes to prepare them for market, stocking the streams on property. This position is responsible for assisting in the completion of various hatchery projects and responsible for providing primary oversight to labors to ensure tasks are completed properly. This position is also responsible for conducting security rounds as scheduled by the Hatchery Manager (typically 3.5 nights per week). -Work at our fishing preserve that is open to the public is also required. This includes: greeting customers and getting them signed in and geared up so that they can go fishing, checking customers out when they are finished and cleaning their fish and maintenance of fishing areas and associated equipment. -Delivering and stocking live fish includes loading trucks and delivering to the customer on time. Once at the location you would be responsible for stocking the fish in streams or ponds. This could include tempering tanks, netting fish off the truck, unloading the truck with a chute, having people assist you, unloading a truck entirely on your own, driving off road to reach locations. -There is a possibility of working in our processing plant which is located on property. This is not a guaranteed responsibility of the position. However there is the possibility that some time would be spent in the plant assisting with order processing and prep. IMPORTANT: The position that we are hiring for begins as a first level supervisor, which includes benefits. However there are 2 month and 6 month evaluations of work performance that allow for growth into an Assistant Manager position.
