- Description
- The successful applicant will participate in an NSF-funded study based at UT-San Antonio and in collaboration with Dr. Xingli Giam of the University of Tennessee. The project will include field, lab, and computational components aimed at understanding elevational range limits of fishes in the southern Appalachian Mountains and forecasting shifts in these range limits under scenarios of climate change. The successful applicant will develop a thesis/dissertation based on one or more of these objectives.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, or related field, and minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale). PhD applicants should hold a Master’s degree or 2+ years of relevant experience beyond the Bachelor’s degree. The successful candidate must have strong written and verbal communication, ability to work independently and as part of a research team. Experience with Program R and fish husbandry are preferred.
