The Yakama Nation-sponsored Southern Territories Habitat Project is recruiting for a Habitat Biologist III position. The position is responsible for monitoring and assessing stream and watershed conditions and provides technical guidance and oversight for design and construction of restoration projects in subbasins of the mid-Columbia region. Assists project development, budgeting, implementation, and monitoring. The position will be part of a small team working on the Southern Territories Habitat Project, which implements watershed-scale aquatic habitat restoration using a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach. As a group, we are deeply committed to restoration and protection of watershed processes. Activities are highly varied, ranging from field work in remote, beautiful landscapes – wading streams, surveying, habitat mapping – to utilizing data analysis tools in the office – to overseeing contractors during construction of restoration projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Science or related field and four years of fisheries/watershed experience.
