The Garvey Lab (Dr. Jim Garvey, students, and post-docs) in the Center for Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Aquatic Sciences (CFAAS; https://fisheries.siu.edu/) at Southern Illinois University is seeking a multi-year postdoctoral fellow to join our funded research group investigating questions related to the ecology and management of invasive fishes. Research topics include mechanisms underlying movement, early life history dynamics and recruitment, and ecosystem/socioeconomic effects of invasions at regional and continental scales.
We seek self-motivated candidates with strong interpersonal and analytical skills. Preference will be given to applicants with experience presenting at scientific conferences and/or publishing in the peer-reviewed literature. Applicants with demonstrated skills in GIS, statistical analysis, aquatic field sampling, database management, acoustic telemetry, and/or experience using scientific grade hydroacoustic equipment are preferred. Applicants must have a GPA > 3.0 and a valid driver’s license. Applicants at the Ph.D. level must have defended their M.S. prior to January 1, 2021.
