Description
Part-time (up to 40 hours per week; end date 30 June 2018, renewable contingent upon funding and mutual willingness to renew) field technician needed to assist a UAPB doctoral student with a study of the population dynamics of hybrid Striped Bass and their interactions with Largemouth Bass in a large reservoir in southwestern Arkansas. Housing in the field will be available in the form of a camper. Applicants should be comfortable with a variable work schedule, and irregular hours. Duties will include, but are not limited to: small boat operation, boat electrofishing and gill netting equipment, data entry, and other duties as necessary. Transportation between Pine Bluff and the study area will be provided. To apply, please send as a single file (ex: J. Qualifications
Proof of current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to receive both prior to employment), completion of a boater’s education course, and a valid U.S. driver’s license are required. Prior experience with boat electrofishing, gill netting, radiotelemetry, and field identification of fish fauna of the southern US are desirable, but not mandatory.
