- The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking to hire three Fisheries Technicians in the Green River Region. These seasonal positions will assist fisheries management crews with all aspects of aquatic resource management activities. The duration of these positions is up to 3 months starting in July and will conclude at the end of September. Applicants unable to work through the end of September should not apply. Duties will be focused on completion of a chemical restoration project for Bluehead and Flannelmouth suckers and could entail electrofishing, netting, stream/habitat surveys, applying chemical to flowing and standing water, data entry, and equipment maintenance, as well as other routine fisheries management tasks. Biologist technicians might also assist with watercraft inspection and decontamination in cooperation with the state's aquatic invasive species program and assist with the aquatic habitat program.
- Qualifications
- Preference will be given to those pursuing a career or degree in fisheries. This may include preference towards those with a high school degree plus experience in fish and wildlife resource management, research, or college course work towards a degree in fishery or wildlife management, ichthyology, hydrology, watershed science other closely related fields.
