Suggested Salary: D.O.E. Who we are: We are a family owned and operated wildlife consulting agency based in the greater Houston area. Our team of experts and scientists are involved in numerous projects, from lake and pond management, to ranch development and whitetail deer breeding throughout all of Texas and across the southeastern United States. We currently have full time positions open for both a fisheries biologist and a fisheries technician to join our dynamic team and assist with the duties pertaining to the fisheries portion of the company. Description: The successful candidate for this position will assist in the following duties: Electrofishing Surveys Equipment maintenance and repair Fish stocking and transport Water quality management Aquatic invasive species/aquatic vegetation control Installation of aeration systems and fountains Installation of artificial fish habitat and fish feeders Basic data entry Benefits: In addition to salary, Blessed Bayou offers coverage of any necessary lodging and meals while on the job and health insurance. Qualifications: Required: • US citizenship or proof of eligibility to work in the United States • Valid driver’s license • Basic understanding of tools and repair • Ability to drive a truck and trailer • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical labor outdoors • Desire to learn and willingness to work around fish and aquatic environments • Strong work ethic and positive attitude Preferred Qualifications: • Experience driving outboard motor boats • Coursework in fisheries, environmental sciences, or a natural resources related field. • Experience working in aquatic environments and/or with fish
