- Description
- The University of Wyoming is searching for 2 seasonal fisheries technicians to assist on a native fish research project in Green River, Wyoming. The focus of this work is to identify seasonal movement patterns of Roundtail Chub and Flannelmouth Sucker within the Blacks Fork Subbasin. Duties include PIT tag array installation, downloading and maintenance; mobile antenna surveys, fin ray aging and data wrangling. Crew members will spend time outdoors and in remote areas under challenging conditions. This includes working in rain, wind and snow, with bugs, and occasional weekend work. Shared housing is provided. Positions Available/Dates Needed: Two 5 month technicians –March 8, 2021 through Mid-October. Flexible start date.
- Qualifications
- Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, a reliable self-starter and have some experience in fisheries or a related field. Applicants must be able to work in inclement weather conditions, hike, operate 4WD vehicles and lift 50 lbs. Additionally, applicants must have the ability to work in a group, as well as alone with minimal supervision.
