The Flying A Ranch is looking for eager Wildlife / Range students to assist our 4 on site biologists during the spring semester. The ranch is a 9,000 acre hunting operation with a habitat first range operation as well. The spring interns will assist full time employees on infrastructure maintenance as well as habitat manipulation. Spring intern job duties Juniper control via skid-steer loader Assist in road repair Tractor work Chemical application on noxious brush species Pig trapping Raccoon trapping Burning brush piles Assist with cattle working Fill feeders Housing will be provided on site and ranch vehicles will be supplied for daily work.
All applicants must have at least 60 hours completed in a wildlife related field of study, please send cover letter, resume, transcript, and references via email. Applicants should be eager, hard working and be able to work alone as well as in small groups. Interns start mid January and the internship concludes mid May and is slightly flexible. (The internship may be lengthened if mutually agreed upon by the intern and ranch management.) The positions will be filled as soon as qualified applicants are received.
