Description

Qualifications
Required Job Qualifications The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by the proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position. B.S. in Forest Management, Wildlife Biology, or a closely related field with at least one year of experience in forestry. A combination of a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, plus 5 years of forestry experience will be considered as a substitute. Experience in the management of Eastern hardwood forests, including inventory and timber stand improvement. Experience with various forest mensuration equipment and forest inventory software. Must be able to meet and maintain the minimum wildfire fighter qualifications established by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (S-130, S-190, and I-100) and obtain a baseline and annual physical exam and Red Card certification. Must be able to meet additional training and certification requirements of the Fort A.P. Hill Forestry Branch, including ATV safety, 1st Aid/CPR, chainsaw safety, SHARP Logger certification, and Certified Prescribed Burn Manager of Virginia. Preferred Job Qualifications Experience training and supervising seasonal field crews in forest management. Experience with prescribed fire and wildfire suppression.
