Description
Raven Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking energetic and physically-fit candidates for full time (40 hours / week) and part time positions, Monday through Friday as forestry/wildlife technicians. The candidate will learn and perform a variety of work duties related to forest and natural resource management. Primary work duty will be collecting forest inventory data for U.S. Forest Service Common Stand Exam (CSE) projects on various National Forests in Texas. Other work duties would include (but are not limited to) assisting with application and management of prescribed fire, monitoring and habitat management for the threatened Red-cockaded Woodpecker (RCW), herbicide application management, cruising and marking timber, GPS data collection and mapping, and equipment and shop maintenance. Candidates will be expected to travel on intermittent basis for 2-3 day durations. Work experience and/or extended study (e.g., Bachelor of Science, Associates Degree…) in the natural resource fields (forestry, biology, wildlife sciences…) preferred. Ability to identify tree species in East Texas preferred. Annual starting pay (full time positions) between $36,000 and $42,000 contingent on candidate qualifications and experience. Hourly starting pay (part time positions) between $15 and $20 per hour contingent on candidate qualifications and experience. Qualifications
