Joshua Banta's lab in the Department of Biology at the University of Texas at Tyler is looking for a thesis-directed, MS-level graduate student to study the ecology of TX freshwater mussels, to begin in January 2018. The position comes with funding for full tuition, four semesters of either a teaching assistantship or a research assistantship, and summer salary for one summer. The research investigates the distributions (through field work and other means) of two rare species of Unionidae endemic to East Texas.
