This position serves as a Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst (Research Associate I Special) for the COARNG Environmental Branch based at Joint Force Headquarters, Colorado National Guard. COARNG Environmental GIS Analyst provides GIS services to support the mission of the Colorado Army National Guard. The position develops and manages GIS data, performs analysis, and develops maps and other products to support training area management programs and military infrastructure, construction activities. The program aims to support military activates while minimizing impacts to sensitive resources and promoting sustainable use of training land and infrastructure.

Required Job Qualifications
•The successful candidate must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
•Minimum of a BS or BA degree in computer science, information technology, geographic information systems, geography, environmental science, or related field and two years of demonstrated related work experience is required, coursework will not be included.
•Demonstrated work experience applying spatial data standards and maintaining metadata.
•The successful applicant shall demonstrate experience in all of the following: environmental-related GIS, Esri’s ArcGIS software, cartography, and data development and maintenance.
•Must have the ability to work independently, take initiative to resolve issues, and demonstrate superior verbal and written communication skills.
•Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by the employment start date (anticipated start date: February 17 or later).
Preferred Job Qualifications
•Experience working in a highly structured organization.
•Demonstrated knowledge of military instructions, directives, guidance, and environmental regulations and processes.
•Demonstrated work experience with Spatial Data Standards for Facility, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE), and International Organization Standardization (ISO) or Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) metadata standards.
•Existing National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is highly desired.
