Title: Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician - Guam Location: Naval Munitions Site, Marine Corps Camp Blaz, and Andersen Air Force Base - Guam Full job description: https://jobs.colostate.edu/postings/123078 Salary Range: $35,000 – $50,000 Position Summary: The Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) is a research, education and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University (CSU). CEMML applies the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense (DoD) and other public lands. We provide technical support, conduct applied research, and offer career development and learning opportunities to support resource stewardship. We collaborate with our sponsors and within CSU to resolve complex environmental issues, leaving a legacy of science-based decisions that sustain our resources for future generations. This position is part of the Natural Resource, Wildlife, Forestry, and Outdoor Rec Mgmt Technicians - Open Pool. The GIS Technician will provide support to Guam’s GIS Program through a variety of GIS and data management projects. Under the supervision of the GIS analyst, the technician will generate maps, collect field data from biologists, and assist with data management. There is also potential to assist additional Teams with biosecurity field work if needed. Qualifications
Required Qualifications: • Must be physically capable of working independently in outdoor locations under varying weather conditions. • Pursuing a B.S. in a natural resources-, environmental compliance-, biology-, or ecosystem science-related field (at least a sophomore standing). • Must have an interest in pursuing a natural resource-related career. • Must have a valid driver’s license for operating federal vehicles. • Must be able to pass a federal background investigation to obtain a Department of Defense Installation Access Pass. • The successful candidate must demonstrate U.S. employment eligibility; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
