This position directs and manages the Wildlife Division's Geographic Information System (GIS). Duties include program planning, researching new methods of data management, implementing new technologies, providing GIS information and applications through a variety of outlets (e.g. web, mobile devices, social media, and distributed media); works cooperatively with other state and government agencies to procure and exchange data, provide overall program guidance, provide technical advice and support, and coordinate the Wildlife Division's GIS data management; acts as a liaison between program developers (state and private contractors) and the department; oversees the department's data management by directing, designing, and assisting in development of data collection methodologies and data reporting programs for the aquatics, terrestrial and operations sections, including implementing new GIS programs; and is responsible for designing and conducting training sessions on use and functionality of new hardware and software.
The GIS Coordinator supervises two GIS Program Specialists and one GIS Database Manager.
This position will require periodic local, statewide and regional travel.

Applicants should be self-starters, motivated, able to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic environment with a good understanding of GIS standards and best practices are also preferred.

Preferred experience includes:

experience with ArcGIS mobile platforms (Collector, Suvey123);
experience working with teams with various skill levels and knowledge of GIS;
experience working with databases (SQL).
