The Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) has an open GIS Developer position in Fort Collins, CO. The Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) seeks a GIS Developer to provide GIS support to the CEMML project manager including data management of Army Sustainable Range Program (SRP) spatial data and application development of a web map application. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications in the announcement to be considered for hire. Required: The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by the proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position. An undergraduate or graduate degree in the following disciplines: geography, geographic information systems (GIS), engineering, environmental science, computer information systems, computer science, or related field is required. 2 years’ demonstrated work experience in ArcGIS data management is required. Course work will not be included. Experience developing Python scripts to automate tasks in ArcGIS is required. Experience developing web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is required. Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by the employment start date. Preferred: Working knowledge of Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) is desired. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Department of the Army GIS, particularly with the Sustainable Range component is desired. Experience using Geospatial Data Abstraction Library (GDAL) command line interface tools is desired. Experience using GitLab, Git, BitBucket, Mercurial, Subversion, or other version control system is desired. Experience developing web map applications with OpenLayers, Leaflet, ArcGIS API for JavaScript, Google Maps, or other web map API’s is desired. Knowledge of Linux commands and bash scripting is desired.
