I am recruiting 4 graduate students to pursue a Graduate Certificate in Waterfowl Habitat & Recreation Management through the University of Arkansas Monticello and the Five Oaks Agriculture Research and Education Center (www.fiveoaksrec.org). The program is 2-semester, 18 credit hours in total. The successful applicants WILL receive a $20,000 scholarship to complete the program.
The selection process for this scholarship will be competitive, and only 4 students will be selected for the 2021-2022 academic year (mid-Aug start date). Successful candidates will spend a substantial amount of time on the Five Oaks property learning the tools and skills for managing wetlands and waterfowl. These students will be exposed to many potential employers as the FoAgREC hosts annual field day events to highlight the student-lead management activities, allowing them to demonstrate their skills. For those interested send a resume with references, copy of academic transcripts, and a cover letter explaining your interest in the program, experiences, and career aspirations to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ideal applicants may be recent bachelorette graduates (B.S. required) or experienced field technicians with a BS degree. Must be passionate about waterfowl and wetland management, self-motivated, hard-working, and solid GPA.
