- Description
- The student will assist with an NSF EPSCoR funded multi-state research project. Duties will include collecting live ticks from the wild using a flag/drag method as well as dry ice traps, collecting environmental record, keeping tick identification record in the lab, PCR for pathogen detection, data processing, writing reports and manuscripts, presentations at scientific meetings. Some local travel is required.
- Qualifications
- BS degree in wildlife biology, ecology, entomology, or biology. Min. undergraduate GPA 3.0 is required. The ability to travel and work independently in remote locations; competency in following steps of given protocols; previous experience working in the field (preferred).
