The Department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management, Oklahoma State University is seeking qualified individual to work on a project that aims to understand social acceptance and economics of hybrid and native sweetgum stands in the southcentral region of the United States. The research is funded by USDA-NIFA’s SunGrant program and involves collaboration with Louisiana State University and private landowners.
The successful candidate will work to understand the factors affecting landowner social acceptance and willingness to invest in a hybrid sweetgum plantation. Appropriate economic analysis tools will be used to know the landowner's level of awareness and interest about the hybrid sweetgum and its potential as a feedstock for traditional and non-traditional bio-based industries.
BS in forestry, wildlife management, or natural resource management. The candidate must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (A = 4.0) and GRE scores as required by the department and the graduate school.
