Qualifications
The internship is basically one for people that are interested in pursuing a ranching career on a ranch that raises whitetail deer, cattle or guiding hunters in a hunting situation along with day-to-day ranching maintenance. With the whitetail deer operation you will be taught how to raise them from the AI process to the release and harvesting. The day to day duties includes checking deer pens for ill or poor doing animals, bottle feeding fawns, filling feeders, administering medication, scoring bucks on the hoof, artificial insemination of does, the role DNA plays in the breeding, pen and fence maintenance, vet work, planting food plots, blind placement and day to day activities to facilitate the breeding, selling of breeding stock and hunting of whitetail deer. You will also need to work with clients, both hunting and breeding. You will learn mechanical maintenance of equipment and how to operate various types of equipment. We have had several interns that have gone on to run ranches on their own. This is a highly intense and informative program, you will be exposed to things you have never seen or heard about. You will never learn all this in school, in books, or on the Internet and will be qualified to operate in a ranching environment, if you learn what is taught. The cattle part of the ranch is not the main thrust of the operation but it is part of the ranching on the Eslabon Ranch. It will include checking for sick animals, gathering from time to time, vaccination and vet work as well as separating calves for market. The hunting is a very important part of our operation and you will be taught how to score deer on the hoof, track wounded animals, predator control and trapping to aid in herd survival, hog eradication, placement of game cameras to help with scouting, pre scouting to locate trophy buck for clients, client relations and learn just how the hunting industry works. You will be provided an on ranch nice place to live, full kitchen, with Internet and satellite TV some meals and a starting salary is $1500.00 per month plus any tips. If you wish to pursue this please let me know and we can proceed. Please email resumes with references to eslabon55@hotmail.com
