A full-time paid internship position is available at Dauphin Island Sea Lab to work with Dr. Kelly Dorgan on animal-sediment interactions. Research will focus on the impacts of infaunal organisms on the physical properties of sediments. The technician will be responsible for processing infauna and sediment samples, setting up and conducting laboratory experiments, developing and trouble-shooting methods, helping with field work, and maintaining equipment. This position will also include some data analysis, and experience with Matlab, R, Arduino, ImageJ, or other computer programming languages would be useful but not required. This position is from September until mid-April. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Housing may be available at the lab.

Applicants should have a BS in biology, marine science, engineering, or a related field, some previous research experience, and interest in marine invertebrates and/or sediment processes.
