We have a large whitetail hunting operation in Southeast Iowa that deals both with free range hunting and preserve hunting on 1000 acres of high fence property. We have a medium sized breeding facility to help impact the hunting ranch and have been in business since 2000. We run a first-class operation and have a very good reputation as one of the best in the industry. We are looking for people that can work from June thru December, but will consider shorter fall only applicants as well that can work September thru December. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES • General ranch clean up and maintenance of fences and grounds • Assist with stand placement/ preparation for hunting season • Maintenance and upkeep of ranch equipment and vehicles • Filling and maintaining protein and corn feeders • Assist in management of food plots • Assist in management and care of breeding facility • Assist with any other ranch duties as assigned by management • Provide excellent customer service to guests and other company guests • Depending on abilities and work ethic, potentially guide some clients in and/or outside the preserve • This is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week schedule so we work when and as needed…there is no time off unless approved by management • Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential ADDITIONAL NOTES Unlike many hunting outfitters, Timberghost guides work as a team to ensure that every client in camp has a quality hunt and a great experience. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and fun, but behind the scenes we all work very hard to make sure that the entire Timberghost staff comes across professional and courteous at all times. The senior guide crew is committed to providing the newer guide staff with all the information and tools possible to help them become knowledgeable and confident professional deer hunting guides. Great guiding is 50% deer/hunting knowledge and field judging, and 50% Customer service. To be a valued Timberghost guide, you must be excellent at both!
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • Education and experience is what this opportunity is all about so will consider any applications, but if working toward a degree in wildlife management or other program with the goal of managing a hunting operation in the future a definite plus, especially if through a school intern programs. • Hunting experience a plus. • Experience with a whitetail breeding operation a plus • Experience with equipment and equipment maintenance a plus NECESSARY PERSONAL SKILLS AND PERSONALITY TRAITS • Physically able to work long hours at 100% • Ability to communicate well with others and take instruction, as well as constructive criticism, in order to become a more valuable asset over the time of your employment • Effectively and rationally deal with conflict/ deadlines. • Integrate into an experienced team of professionals with the attitude of becoming a valuable asset to the team through hard work and educated thinking. • Dependable and punctual • Good character and good health • Positive outlook and outgoing personality
