- JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment, controlling weeds, coordinating with contractors, maintaining infrastructure and all the odd jobs involved in managing a natural area year-round. Visit our website www.greenbeltlandtrust.org JOB DUTIES • Maintains wildlife habitat by operating a tractor, skid steer, ATV, mower, chainsaw, and herbicide applicator. • Drives trucks/trailers and delivers equipment to job site. Training for CDL included if not already in place. • Treats invasive weeds with herbicides using backpack, tow-behind boom, and RTV mounted sprayers. • Maintains property infrastructure (buildings, hiking trails, roads, gates, fences, etc.). • Occasionally helps with volunteer events, public tours, neighbor relations, wildlife surveys, etc. • Tracks work and activities electronically in an online mapping database.
- Qualifications
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Ability to safely operate and maintain tractor, skid steer, ATV, and other farm related equipment. • Prior training and knowledge on safe application of herbicides preferred. • Ability to lift 50-pounds, have a strong work ethic and proven team-focused attitude. • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and ability to get CDL within 90 days of employment. • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. WORKING CONDITIONS • Often works alone and outdoors in variable weather. All work sites within 60 minutes of Corvallis. • Will be required to start work at 6AM during the fire season. Summer work is four x 10-hour days/week.
