- The Biology Department at the University of North Carolina Asheville is seeking to hire a temporary Lecturer in Biology for a two year appointment beginning in Fall 2021. The successful candidate will have an MS or PhD in Biology or an appropriate discipline, and demonstrated teaching experience is preferred. Teaching duties (12 contact hours per semester) will include some combination of our introductory non-majors courses and introductory courses for our majors including Ecology and Evolution, Experimental Design (experience with R is desired), Cellular and Molecular Biology, and Zoology and/or Botany.
- Qualifications
- A terminal degree in Biology or a related field is required. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that he or she has the ability to teach and mentor undergraduate students; bring diverse and multidisciplinary perspectives into the classroom; and function professionally in a highly collaborative and increasingly diverse organization.
