- Description
- The Department of Environmental Sciences (EVS) at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) is seeking a nine-month Lecturer starting August 2023. This position is responsible for teaching, lab coordination, teaching assistant supervision, and undergraduate advising. The successful candidate will: • Teach EVS 495 Seminar in Environmental Sciences (25%) • Serve as the EVSL 195 Introduction to Environmental Sciences Lab Course Coordinator (25%) • Supervise graduate teaching assistants for EVSL 195 and EVS 495 (25%) • Serve as a primary undergraduate academic advisor within the department (25%) Additional service to the department, college, university, and profession is required. - Qualifications
- Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Candidates must have a master’s degree, or equivalent, by the start of the Fall 2023 semester in Environmental Sciences or a closely related field. Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience • Experience teaching college level, writing-intensive research courses, and lab courses • Experience managing people, scheduling, and lab equipment • Familiarity with DegreeWorks or similar degree management software.
