Description
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking a Licensing Representative within the Licensing section. This position is the first point of contact with the general public for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department through personal contact at the license sales counter. This position is responsible for over-the-counter license sales, applications, and watercraft registrations to include verifying requirements have been met per Federal Code, Wyoming Statutes, Commission Regulations, and Department policies prior to issuance of license/registration and then issuing licenses/registrations using the Electronic License Service (ELS) system. Assist with other duties within the Fiscal Division as assigned by the License Sale Coordinator, License Section Manager or Fiscal Division Administration. Responsible for providing information and answering questions to the general public and department personnel working the front license sales counter. Responsible for the issuance of various licenses (regular, special, and commercial), permits, tags, stamps, decals, certificates, and registrations over the counter with the general public and/or through applications received in the mail. Printing & mailing licenses, permits, and registrations purchased online. Back up the mailroom. Responsible for maintaining a cash drawer, daily reconciliation of sales transactions with funds remitted, and preparation of funds for deposit. Responsible for interpreting Federal Code, Wyoming Statutes, Commission Regulations, and Department policies regarding hunting, fishing, boating, and commercial licenses and disseminating information, and answering questions to the general public at the front license counter and through written correspondence. Research licensing databases, licensing systems, and standard reports to provide information to the general public and other Department personnel. Assist with other duties within the Fiscal Division as assigned by the License Sale Coordinator, License Section Manager, or Fiscal Division Administration. Balancing over-the-counter applications with funds received, preparing appropriate documents for the deposit, and submission of applications to the License Draw work unit for processing of applications for inclusion in limited quota drawings.
Qualifications
Preference will be given to those with customer service experience. **Must have a valid driver’s license. KNOWLEDGE: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including skills in interpersonal communications with the ability to deal with the general public by phone to include dealing calmly with irate clients and communicating complicated rules and regulations in laymen's terms without distortion. Ability to pay close attention to details to ensure appropriate cash handling and balancing procedures with the ability to document work processes. Competence in developing and utilizing databases and spreadsheets for various financial analyses and skill with a 10key. Knowledge of state and agency statutory and regulatory requirements and policies as related to a multitude of licenses and regulations, including WGF Chapter 44 and related hunting rules and regulations. Competence with the Electronic License Service (ELS) system, including customer screens, receipt, and application screens, and various balancing reports. Ability to work closely with other sectional personnel to insure efficient and effective workflow processes. Ability to work under pressure of critical time elements demonstrating the ability to prioritize work based on workload/seasonal fluctuations requiring a different emphasis on assigned tasks.
