Description
Wildlife Technician - LTE 60% Wildlife caretaking of captive small mammals, canines, felines, ungulates, and raptors. Duties to include animal monitoring, feed prep and feeding, watering, enrichment development and implementation, maintenance and sanitation of enclosures and enclosure equipment, and handling of animals for veterinary purposes only. 20% Inspect and maintain wildlife exhibits and property facilities and grounds. Insure public safety by minimizing the possibility of physical contact between humans and captive animals. 20% Assist with other property programs to meet operational needs. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge Required: Qualifications: - Knowledge and experience in captive animal caretaking and facilities and grounds maintenance and repair. -Experience with captive wildlife caretaking preferred. NOTE: 90% of position duties are outdoors. Duties may require work in inclement weather conditions. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
